More than 22 years after marching to the top of the charts, Nancy Sinatra's "Boots" are still walkin' tall.
Her hit song "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' ," which topped the Billboard charts the week of Feb. 26, 1966, is receiving airplay again thanks to a campy video now being run on VH-1, the cable sister station to MTV.
The video, a clip from a vintage "Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," features the singer lip-synching her song surrounded by leggy go-go girls in micro-miniskirts wearing -- what else? -- boots.
Rhino Records, the Southern California record company that specializes in reissues of '50s and '60s rock, has just released the song as a single to capitalize on the video. The company previously has issued collections of greatest hits by the singer on record and compact disc.
As for Sinatra herself, she will appear in the pilot episode of a yet-unscheduled ABC series, "China Beach," singing her most famous hit song to American GIs in a Vietnam-era scene.
