Ken Sharp, whose name will be familiar to readers of Beatlefan, Goldmine and other music publications, is the author of "Starting Over: The Making of Double Fantasy," to be published Oct. 19 by Simon & Schuster/MTV Books.
Sharp told us by email the book will be an oral history of the album told by the key principals involved. It will include new interviews with Yoko Ono, producer David Geffen, Jack Douglas, the session band, Rick Nielsen and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, engineers, record company personnel, photographers, including Annie Leibovitz and Bob Gruen, and members of the media who interviewed John and Yoko during their rounds to publicize the album.
The book will also feature photos and essays by David M. Spindel and Roger Farrington, who were there for the first day of the recording sessions. It will serve as a nice compliment to the release of the Lennon remasters and the celebrations of his 70th birthday.
