Here's a report on the first night in Philadelphia with words and pictures from Bob Gannon:
"Well folks, the Philly crowd has traditionally been some of the most wild audiences when Paul is playing and this night was no different. Band & crowd were high octane.
"Setlist wise there is nothing much to report but two story lines that are worth sharing was after playing "Yesterday", Paul called up a woman from the front row who had held up a sign that said "I am a breast cancer survivor." The rest although I'm sure of the exact wording was that she wanted Macca to sign her so that she could get a tattoo . So she came up and Paul signed her lower back.
"Right after that, he called up a young girl from the front row. You may remember her story as she is the girl who is handicapped and her parents were trying to get good seats for her to see her hero but that the Wachovia Center was only willing to supply them with seats further away from the stage despite them paying for the expensive tickets. Once the story hit the news, I believe Paul's people stepped in and she did get her front row seat!! So she was carried on stage by Brian Riddle and placed back in her wheelchair where she came on stage.
"Paul walked over and met her on Rusty's side and gave her a big hug to the joy and jubilation of the crowd. Paul then walked back to his mic and summoned her over to say "hello to Philadelphia". He held the mic down for her as she gave a robust "Hello Philadelphia" which was met with an earth shattering cheer from the crowd.
"Paul and band were smiling ear to ear and this has definitely been a tour with filled dreams come true for numerous fans. Paul then signed around five things after the last song."
