Here are some pictures and a detailed report on the Philadelphia soundcheck from Bob Gannon (thanks again, Bob!!):
"Long day and I'll let out the soundcheck report before going to bed. Paul was late flying in from New York and soundcheck was about an hour late. While waiting for Paul, Wix came walking in and addressed the soundcheck group. He wound up signing autographs and posing for quite a few people before excusing himself to "go to work". After waiting some more, Paul finally walked in. Soundcheck was awesome, great sound!! Here's what was played:
01. Instrumental Jam/ Jet instrumental without Paul
02. Honey Hush
03. Honey Don't
04. Philadelphia Jam
05. Flaming Pie
06. Magical Mystery Tour with some extra work on the ending
07. Penny Lane
08. Celebration
09. I'm in love again
10. C Moon
11. I want to (come home)
12. Midnight Special
13. Calico Skies
14. Every Night
15. Sun is Shining
16. Pavlova (not kachina)
17. Dance Tonight
18. I'm leaning on a lamp post
19. Ram On
20. Yesterday
21. Suicide
22. You never Give me your money (instrumental-partial)
23. Massage bit
24. Lady madonna
"A few notes on soundcheck. "Sun is Shining" sounded absolutely amazing. I think it should be added to the show and was one of the many songs requested by soundcheckers.. Then came "Leaning on the lamp post" and "Ram On". Then later, the best request of the night....."Suicide" which Paul answered the guy with "Interesting man" and then went right into "Suicide" "Lamp post" was almost completely done but it was the most that I've seen him do of it. At the end of soundcheck, a father & son were called up to the stage where Paul signed their T-Shirts and the sign that they had been holding up. We then broke for dinner and the people waiting outside to get in were finally allowed to enter the arena."
Bob (can't believe that he heard "suicide" live tonight!!!!!!
